Editorial Guidelines Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

At myootdfashion, our goal is simple: to help you find style that works for you, not just what is trending. These Editorial Guidelines explain how we create our content, how we choose the products we feature, and how we keep our advice honest, accurate and useful.

1. Our mission

We publish outfit ideas, trend reports, beauty tips, shopping guides and lifestyle content. Every post should answer a real reader question and give practical help: how to wear it, who it suits, what to pair it with and whether it is worth the money.

2. Who creates our content

Our content is written and edited by the myootdfashion team. You can learn more about the people behind the Site on our About Us page. Every post is reviewed by an editor before it is published.

3. How we choose topics

  • Questions and requests from our readers and followers.
  • Seasonal needs, such as holidays, travel, weather and events.
  • Trends we see on runways, on social media and in stores, judged on whether they are wearable in real life.
  • Gaps where we feel existing advice is unclear, outdated or unhelpful.

4. Research and accuracy

  • We check product details, such as materials, sizing and available colours, against the retailer or brand at the time of writing.
  • Prices and availability change often. We note that prices are correct at the time of publishing, and readers should check the retailer for current details.
  • For beauty and skincare, we rely on information from brands, ingredient research and qualified experts. We never make medical claims, and we encourage readers to patch test and seek professional advice where appropriate.
  • When we use outside sources, statistics or expert quotes, we credit and link to them.

5. How we choose products

We recommend products because we believe they are good value, good quality, or genuinely useful for the look we are describing. We aim to include a range of price points, sizes and styles so that our content is useful to as many readers as possible.

  • We say clearly when we have personally tried a product, and when a recommendation is based on research and reviews instead.
  • We share honest opinions, including the downsides of a product.
  • We do not recommend products we would not feel comfortable recommending to a friend.

6. Editorial independence

We earn money through advertising and affiliate links, which keeps the Site free to read. This never decides what we write or recommend. Our editorial team chooses products independently, and brands cannot pay to change our opinion or our ratings. Read more in our Affiliate Disclosure.

7. Sponsored content and gifted products

  • Any post created in paid partnership with a brand is clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “In partnership with” at the start of the post.
  • If a brand sent us a product for free, we say so in the post.
  • Sponsored and gifted content follows the same honesty standards as all our content.

8. Images

We use our own photography, images supplied by brands and retailers for editorial use, or properly licensed stock images. We credit image sources where required. We do not use other people’s photos without permission.

9. Use of digital tools

We may use digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help with tasks such as research, outlining, image editing and proofreading. Every post is written, fact-checked and edited by a person, and our team is responsible for everything we publish.

10. Inclusivity

Style is for everyone. We aim to feature a range of body types, ages, budgets and styles, and to write in a way that is respectful and body positive.

11. Updates and corrections

We regularly review and update older posts so that trends, products and links stay current. If we find a mistake, we correct it promptly, and for significant changes we note the correction in the post. If you spot an error, a broken link or a product that is no longer available, please let us know through our Contact page or at usmanlatifbusiness@gmail.com.
